Removing cylinder head on 8BA

Should I spray the bolts a few days ahead of the removal with penetrating
oil? If it will ease the removal I will do this........

Re: 50 Ford question

I did a l950 a few years ago. It was pretty easy as I remember. Got the hose from some old Ford suppliers? Maybe the hose you got was just too small!!!

Re: Steering wheel play

I would be surprised if it wasn't shot! And the problem is getting new parts that are any good (china) or worse. Then finding someone that can or will rebuild it. Get the green repair manual and see...

Re: dual action fuel pump

My '50 has a dual pump. Bought the car in 2001 had a rebuilt dual on it then, still on it and no problems. Had a '51 back in the old days with the same dual pump, put over
50,000 miles on it with...

Re: Battery drain???

If the lights worked and the starter is dead its probably not the battery. If it doesn't even click its probably a bad ground at the starter switch.

Re: Ford/Champion spark plugs

What about the cars that have ethanol gasoline or gas with out the lead?

Re: Horn Relay Problem?

If it wasn't a convertible the relay would be on the firewall just like my '50 Tudor. The pump and motor is right where the relay would have been on a sedan. It isn't under the pump, its kind of...

Horn Relay Problem?

Re: on and off starter

Not sure about your year of car, but my '49 - '50's starter button has to have a ground to work. If the back side of the dash is rusty it will sometimes do nothing when pushed. Remove the button and...

Re: wheel bearings

If they are hot or warm they are too tight. Boat trailer ball bearing need a little movement in them or they will be warm. Warm or hot bearings are not your friend!

Re: Distilled water & ....

Distilled water is NOT the way to go. Use bottled drinking water in gallon jugs from the grocery store. I use half anti-freeze and half water.
