Re: Model A prices...going which way?

To answer your question, Yes, I think prices have risen over the past 15-20 years. Not a tremendous amount, but some. Cars prices have a way to stabilize. They rise, even out, sometimes drop, then...

Re: Interesting Comments about you Ride

Basically what I have gotten is:
1. How much is it worth?
2. Nice Model T!
3. It has a planetary transmission, right?
4. What kind of gas does it use?
5. How do you get by with one tail light?

Re: MARC facebook site

"I'm not a part of FaceBook. Never say never but I don't see myself par-taking any time soon. Too much drama and all of that waste of time"

I agree with Jeff/Illinois. Not for me.

Re: Coil failure ?

I've had coil failure in cars, but it's rare. My A was running great this summer but started missing and would barely run. Stalled in the driveway so I pushed it in the garage since it would not...

Re: Kudos to snyders

I love Snyders. Being in Ohio they are very convenient for me. CarlG, my company ships to AK now and then, but it's USPS all the time. The other carriers priced themselves out of the market.

Re: wire wheels

Joe K, did not know that. I've got an extra set of NOS 28-29 wheels my Dad had in his garage. I had no idea they were of different construction.

Re: Snow bird conversion at Iola WI car show

There was a guy who's wife worked for me that had one of those, only it was a Tudor.
He was about 80 yrs old and could not keep it running so he just kept it on a trailer and took it to shows and...

Re: 28-29 Phaeton

I love my phaeton, it has room for two adults and two grandkids in the backseat.

The disadvantage is you have to watch the rainclouds!

Re: Gas Shutoff/empty carburetor for overnight/long term parking.

I religiously shut off the gas and let the engine die. I do that every time I know it will be awhile til I drive it again. Also every winter I take the carb off, check ball valve and float, and spray...

Re: very rare body style

Somebody years ago drove one of those across the country protesting some crazy thing about the government going backwards as they go forward. They had signs all over that thing.

"My car is technically my dad's even though I;m the one who restored it and it's kept at his house. He tends to tinker around with things"

Flash, I had the same scenario with my car. I...

Re: Driving The "A" In a Parade

I'm like Barnstuf, I've never had my car boil over in a parade. I just left space in front so I could idle on in first gear. I did it a few times in my home town, but then it got crazy with the candy...

Re: Starts then stops

After winter storage my car fired right up. Topped it off with some fresh gas and then it ran for a minute, then stalled. Wouldn't restart, just cranked over. I took carb off and split it, sprayed...

Re: How to get that perfect exhaust sound?

Yep, Werner and JFranklin are correct. Get your timing right first. Then shove that lever full retarded and set your idle speed as low as it will go. That's it. I remember my Dad and his buddies...

Joe K, I know someone who did just what you said with a landscaping business. At the end, his reputation was pretty bad.

Re: Snyders On-Line Ordering

I always call, it's faster. I will shop online after hours, or go thru the catalog, but you can't beat a live person if there are any questions.

Re: World Wide Investments & Stephen Edwards. Do you know them?

Old31, wise choice to keep your $200. I wouldn't go for that lengthy glossed over sales pitch at all.

Re: Installing motometer

Exactly what Marty says. I keep an eye on mine as well, good indicator when it's getting too hot.
