Re: How Old Are Your Tires?

Ours are 18 years old. No sign of any issues. Car is kept indoors, NEVER left in the Sun for any length of time.

Sun, mileage, and abuse. I believe will shorten tire life. Enjoy.

Re: Engine Longevity

Our 1929’s engine was rebuilt in the 60’s. We have owned it since the late 70’s. We stay under 45 mph, change oil once a year. Have changed timing gear. Compression all in the mid 60’s. Does not...

Had steering box rebuilt. While it was out we dropped the...

Re: Should I pass on this A? Or would I miss out on something?

It’s a “Hobby”. This is not your 401K.

I would just keep a few things in mind. Brakes, tires, tubes, shocks, springs, front end, wiring, cooling system, and just a working engine/transmission. ...

Re: Got Miss Molly home

Just one comment about u-joint. You might want to try John Deere Cornhead Grease. Remove speedometer drive gear mounting bolts. Pump in Cornhead Grease until it starts to come out of speedometer...

Happy 90 years old 6/18/29 firewall cars.

Our 1929 Sport Coupe has a firewall date of June 18, 1929. That’s today.

I know it doesn’t mean that was the date of the cars assembly, but for me it’s close enough.

Happy birthday to all...

Re: Checking rod and main bearings

Leave the sleeping dog alone. If you look hard enough, you are going to find a potential problem in any 90 year old engine.

My parents got me a Model A in 1960 because I would just take...

Re: Driving The "A" In a Parade

All off the above mentioned comments and don’t ride your clutch. Put car in neutral and let the clutch out if your going to be not moving for a minute or two. Less stress on throw out bearing.

We have been using STP in the transmission and rear end for years.

Shifts nicely, no leaks, changes just like the old 600w oil.

I would recommend. I do understand your beginning comment. ...
