Re: A Pillar Wind Noise Water Leaks

KULTULZ, yes there really is a poor seal in this location. It seems to me the seal Face is not wide enough to fit up against the narrow Face of the lip off the A Pillar.

Daves55Sedan, I seem to...

A Pillar Wind Noise Water Leaks

The weatherstrip appears to be incorrect for this model of car. It's not wide enough to cover the lip on the A Pillar.
Take a look at the attached photos, I've seen two other model wagons with same...

Experienced Painter Advice Needed

I was looking at the paint on my roof this morning and looking closely, noticed rust spots about the diameter of a pin.
I only see these spots on the roof and lower rear body panel in/on the...

Re: AZ auctions

I went over to the B-J auction on Wednesday and was looking at some of the Bronco Type vehicles, the ones near the front entrance.
I could understand some of the high prices as to the various...

Unfortunate News

A few years ago (already!) I purchased a 1956 Ford Parklane Wagon and since that time I've been trying to improve its' condition.
I've kept notes, receipts and in my search for parts, I met Jim...

Re: Stabilizer Bar Links, Horizontal Critical.

NASCARdave big thanks for the info, it supports my comment the mounts were not installed correctly. I wonder if the car left the assembly line with a Ford or Mercury sway bar.
Bobss396, beautiful...

Re: Stabilizer Bar Links, Horizontal Critical.

Well, that's disheartening, paul2748.
I don't think my bar is wrong as much as I think the Frankenwagen mounts are off.
As previously, the original installation was also canted backwards at the top...

Re: Stabilizer Bar Links, Horizontal Critical.

There is something wrong with the front end set-up. It's just a new finding on the road straightening out other owners wrenchin'. Or Factory.
The original sway bar was canted backwards. Either the...

Re: Stabilizer Bar Links, Horizontal Critical.

I did not compare the bars as well as I should have, did a quick look over with the old and new on the ground, not layered.
The bar is installed as the original with the center piece pointing...

Re: Stabilizer Bar Links, Horizontal Critical.

New bar and links, bar is a bit larger in diameter.
The original bar and the link set ups were not perfectly horizontal either. I'm thinking the larger bar and factory? holes are a bit off? might...

Stabilizer Bar Links, Horizontal Critical.

Are the links supposed to be horizontal?

I am installing a larger diameter stabilizer bar on my Frankenwagen. I'm working on the links now and note that they are at an acute angle, top of bolt...

Re: 55/56 Ford headlite trim

Since we're discussing the HL doors, I have a question about the upper stainless arrow point piece.

One trim piece is off center, looks like heck. Has anyone repositioned one to match the fender...

Re: Road Forced Balanced Tires

Stopped by the Shop in Oxnard, Big Brand Tire and took this photo. Note the display screen on left and the roller on the right.

They are American Classic rims, with the new type of chrome shot on in a...

Road Forced Balanced Tires

New to me.

On a standard rotating balancer, this new machine looks the same except for a roller.

This roller applies about a 1000 lbs? which mimics the tire on the vehicle on the road.

I...

Re: Carpet Purchase Advice, Fiasco

Attachment, missing front edge trim, edge trim area no where near bolt up area of rear seat, both pieces, lower seat that swings up or the seat back piece.

Perhaps wagons are not their forte.

Re: Carpet Purchase Advice, Fiasco

That product/company is messed up. They offered a partial? refund, I didn't bother. Next time an upholstery shop that supplies its own product.

The spring for the key cover lid?

Agree above, I found one key lock part in the bottom of my door....who knows how long it was there.
As a side note, I found rags, a tac rag and a paint stirring...
