I have one and put the tape on the crank pulley. Works great and it doesn't care what engine or spinning item you use it on, but as Jack said, Watch out for them moving parts... Chap

Well, you going to have to pull the transmission and while it's out think of it as an "opportunity" to R&R everything along the way. How's the U-joint? Better to change it out now rather than later....

Here is a really handy tach I got on Amazon which works on any rotating surface. Just stick a small piece of reflective tape (lot's of it comes with unit) on the front pulley...

I am 6'4" and replaced my seat brackets with the extended ones and even after that moved the drivers seat ones back another 2". Still room in back seat for "small"...
