Re: I just got scammed! Be careful!

Always dispute a bad purchase within 30 days. Most financial services have this limit and if the seller can delay you beyond that period of time you are stuck. If you think the seller is honest,...

Re: Replace Flathead with Y-Block?

I'm the OP. You guys are definitely into flatheads as the forum is for '32 to '53 V8's, stopping just short of the Y-Block. My apologies for being, in my ignorance, outside the lines as it were. I do...

Re: Replace Flathead with Y-Block?

I've already said at least twice I'm keeping it all Ford. Suggesting some other brand is just a waste of space. Anyone else checking out this thread to find out the options for doing what I'm trying...

Re: Replace Flathead with Y-Block?

A Bones - I am posting identical threads in the H.A.M.B. 1952-59 Ford Social Group and not getting much response.

Re: Replace Flathead with Y-Block?

42Merc - shame this forum doesn't have "like" buttons - you'd have got one. You would think hotrodders would be more supportive of someone trying to put together a specific concept. The 292's are...

Re: Replace Flathead with Y-Block?

To reiterate, even though it's not the easiest choice, I was hoping to pair an OHV V8 with the original drive train due to the uniqueness of the manual 3 speed with overdrive. Something that I could...

Flathead Storage?

I have a flathead that hasn't been run in 30 years. What should I do to preserve it for future use? Can I just I drain the old oil and squirt something in the spark plug holes? If I put some fresh...

Replace Flathead with Y-Block?

I would like to put a small block Ford V8 (Y-Block?) into my '52 Customline with a 3 speed manual transmission and overdrive. (Just because the OD is unique). The manual transmissions from '49 to '54...

Re: 1952 Ford Customline 4dr Project

JeffB2 - I'm in Jalopy Journal as DougE but haven't introduced myself. Only made one comment about a gas tank drain plug. Still trying to learn my way around that forum. Engine mounts seem to be out...

Re: 1952 Ford Customline 4dr Project

I was fortunate in that an uncle purchased this new and I inherited it so it has all parts. I drove it from his place to mine and it was running a little hot. I obtained two rebuilt water pumps...

Just dragged this one home. Years ago I had a few grille parts chromed but haven't reinstalled. So I do have all parts. Bumpers are an issue. Are better ones available? Not sure I can find a quality...

Re: 1952 Ford Customline 4dr Weight?

My shed has beams about 5' on center and a Structural Engr friend agreed that I could put 600# to any one beam (I'm a Mechanical Engr). I have several 2" pipes clamped to the beams for hoist...

Re: 1952 Ford Customline 4dr Weight?

I just dragged this guy out of the bush and want to separate the body and frame for complete media blasting and painting. The hoists in my shed can lift 600 lbs or so. I would like to put the basic...
