Re: 8 volt battery in 6 volt car

To answer the original post, Light bulbs are the main thing to consider, Many have said they have converted and are happy with it. The main reason seems to be the brighter lights which will just...

Re: Cold Weather Operation

I notice the same thing. My tranny is very smooth at shifting, but the first few minutes in cold weather, I do experience some grinding. I guess the colder and more sluggish oil slows the gears...

Re: Werner - ask away

Werner: I have followed your posts and I learn a great deal from the answers you get. Perhaps because things get "lost in the translation", you ask questions on topics that might not be written...

Re: Cold Weather Operation

SE Washington State. Just went to weekly Model A breakfast this morning. It was 34. With manifold heater going, I was still in stocking cap and gloves, but better than no heater at all. After 10...

Re: 12 volt headlight options

My car had sealed beams that just did not look right. They looked like bug-eyes and just not original looking. I am running a 6-volt pos. ground alternator and the headlights were halogen. They...

Re: Brakes quiz!! ID the mistery system.

Not only lock up, but picture, if you will, the impossible situation of having to destroy the backing plate and presumably everything else on the wheel to get to a locked up brake.

Re: Distributor Part Fits

I just replaced my "modern" point set with the original upper plate and point set. Old style points are much easier to set precisely with the screw. HOWEVER, when I wiggled the cam back and forth,...

Re: Logolites opinions

I feel that I am a young 68. However, my eyes have become ever increasingly intolerant to glare. LED headlights from just about any car drive me nuts, including brand-new off the showroom floor. ...

Re: Logolites opinions

I bought the Logo lights to see what all the hype was about. I will differ from anyone who says they can be focused. At LEAST not to the degree the incandescent bulbs do. I tried and tried. After...

Re: 1930 Tudor Brake Light Switch Location

Like you say; It has nothing to do with it. A switch just turns it on or off, no matter what polarity.

Re: top molding questions

I once had the same dilemma. I wound up buying the metal molding for front and rear and refurbishing my side rain gutters, and they wound up looking pretty nice. The metal moldings for my car (29...

Re: 6V versus 12V (stupid ques. I'm a newbie)

I faced the same question a couple years ago. I had a generator that was not doing well, and I seriously considered a change-over to 12. I stayed with 6-volt but admittedly, I did replace the...
