Who's gonna fill their shoes?

Every once in a while I look at this video and I think, not of country music and what's important in the music world, but I wonder Who is Actually gonna fill our shoes. Our 'ford shoes, our 'liking...

Re: Lost in space....

I just keep building more sheds. I was doing a brake job in one of these unheated sheds this morning 34 degrees. That's a bad temperature, much colder and you stay indoors and watch old movies. Came...

Re: 1950 F3 Wheels

I also have an interest in truck rims and the part that confuses me here is the 1/2" difference in 8 hole lug pattern. I bet those 17" wheels were quite new, like the super duty years. That is when...

Re: Old Ford truck at work

I think that's a '36 and it looks to be working here in the Pacific Northwest. Still had mechanical brakes and we have a lot of steep grades in the mountains and foothills here. Some of the log bunks...

Re: WHO Is the Oldest Early V8 Forum Member?

I'm 67. I bought my first old ford when I was 19. It was a '28 AA stakebed. That means it was 1972 and the truck was 44 years old. I had my wife get on her phone calculator and we think that would be...

Re: Australian 1940-1941 Ford Open Cab Pick-Ups

And just when I thought I'd seen my end all 4wd ford truck comes this.... Holy Crap.

Re: Australian 1940-1941 Ford Open Cab Pick-Ups

Maybe this is a very rare tonner version like Stu 'Truckdog' is dealing with now. If that single type wheel is 17" and 5 on 6 7/8", that's the case. I suppose it could be 5 on 8" like the big trucks....

Re: Installation of IFS in a 1950 F1

I'm with Seery and 48 F1. Check out FTE. It's pretty slow with the '47 and older trucks like mine, but a '50 is right in the wheelhouse and nobody cares if you don't adhere strictly to the 'rules'....

Re: Here's a Flathead water pump. Let's rebuild it. Sunday tech quickie

Thank you Mart. Most excellent! I have a milk crate full of those early pumps and I have seen exploded diagrams of what's inside, but they still intimidated me so I always bought new ones. The...

Re: Not Ford, But Definitely Timely

My wife bought the heated mattress pad. Our bedroom has no heat, but this thing is the perfect solution. Pretty much on par with sliced bread.

Re: Why not a new casting

And you ARE aware of the ongoing discussion with the guy who posts here about casting new blocks? Doesn't look like he's in a huge hurry. Maybe someone can link to the thread.

Re: 8RT truck oil pan question

Be careful bending that tube... I have had some problems with those two attachment bolts stripping over the years while installing tube to pump.

Re: What to look for on a preliminary block inspection?

Yup, looks a rebuilt one. Like maybe back in '58. Mart could be using it in a hill climb in a couple of weeks, but most of us would have a lot of money invested in short order.

Re: '40 front fenders

It's been really cold for our area and snow the last 3 days. Sometimes I just have to brave the cold so I can do some wrenching. Weekends don't come around every day. Did a front brake job with new...

Re: 1951 f3

I'm 67 and my son is 26. For years we have assembled the whole front clip off the truck. Each of us on a side and we just set it on. As said, bolts barely snug. Then we adjust and tighten bolts. Now...

Re: My old red tonner on a music video.

Re: My old red tonner on a music video.

It's kinda fun to be appreciated with all our toils. Laying on our back in the gravel or concrete, banging on stuff while crap falls in our eyes, not to mention the skinned knuckles. Sheesh, golfers...

Re: My old red tonner on a music video.

They might have looked like mosquitos, but just some kind of non-biting insect we see sometimes in late summer. We have no biting insects here. Maybe if you lived by a swamp or had a lot of old tires...
