I have also removed a couple of spark plugs and shot a little gas into the chamber to prime it. Once it starts...it would usually keep running. Probably should have checked the bowl gaskets as...

Yes. It is called hood lacing. Can be purchased at most of the Early Ford Suppliers. Comes as a set usually...radiator shell and cowl.

Without a picture, I am guessing it is perhaps a '32 replacement steering wheel. Ford changed the location of the keyway midway thru the year to relocate the top spoke to the bottom. Pat

Tiger...I believe you are correct in assuming that the gas tank sealer is the culprit. If it were mine, I would remove the tank and clean/reseal. I have used POR-15 with good results. You can have...

Ray, I did some experimenting with a spare dash cluster for my '50 using two different color LEDs. Can't remember the 2nd color (think it was green), but one was clear. I could live with either...

If you are referring to the speedometer cluster...the lights may be on but you just can't see them. Very common on the '49-'50 shoebox Fords. I believe Ford referred to it as the "blacklight"...

Update: I purchased the bottom brackets from Shoebox Central (nice quality) and Gabriel shocks from Rock Auto ($16 each). Installed and all works very well!

Terry, Yes it is the same manifold. Mine is drilled, tapped and has a plug in it. I believe the Ford part # begins with 48 ending with a "B". So I am assuming it was a 1935 part number. Probably...
