Re: Serated Washers

I "googled" 'How are lockwashers manufactured?' and came up with this youtube video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HQ8yb_DXUU). Based on the video, I would venture a guess that the bottom driving...

Re: The right way to use waterglass

"I know some will say not to use waterglass but I have before with good results." What the heck is "waterglass"? I know I use one when I want a drink of water, but I've never heard that term used and...

Re: Brake adjustment tool

What is meant by "the front/rear bias"? I have never heard that term and am curious. I pretty much use H. L. Chauvin's method. Thanks. Don/WI

Re: Brake lathe

I don't know what size the spindle is and I'm not home to check, but I know the outer end needs to be small for the adapter used on the rear hub. Don/WI

Re: Brake lathe

I have an Ammco Brake Lathe that does a good job on front and rear model A brake drums. I have done quite a few for club members over the years. I have seen them for sale occasionally on e-bay and...

Re: ubscrewed shift lever

In my original post (# 3) I suggested the possibility that the lower part may be made of a material that could be hardened to eliminated excessive wear. Even if that is not the reason for the three...

Re: ubscrewed shift lever

Who makes the repro lever that has a connector? What is the reason for the two parts? Is the bottom made of a hardened material so the sphere does not wear? If so, I would be interested in purchasing...

Re: Not for the faint of heart - Model A chassis

I like it! Very professionally done. I see nothing I don't like (except for the fan, but that goes without saying). I would not be ashamed to drive the finished project to any antique car event....

Re: transmission question

You are right Tom. I learned this the hard way. Ruined two o-rings before I realized what was happening. I beveled (chamfered) the holes and lubed the o-rings and no more ruined o-rings. I also used...

Re: Manifold machining

Thanks Terry. I did some searching and ended up with a few other Barners that said the same thing with no one posting a different angle. The one I was going to machine must have been warped. I will...

Re: Manifold machining

Mark, I do not mean that angle. I'm wanting to know if there is any angle other than 90 degrees between the mounting surface of the carburetor and the 2" width of the manifold mounting. Thanks for...

Manifold machining

I recently attempted to machine a manifold assembly. I mounted the assembly using the carburetor mounting to fasten it to an angle plate on my milling machine. In doing so I noticed that the manifold...
