Re: 1940 Ford deluxe help with a speaker grill problem

Thanks MIke, for that speaker grille mounting pin info. Just checked. My DRAKE speaker grille has 4 mounting pins to match the 4 holes in the dash. Also, the window bugs are dated as being made in 12...

Re: 1940 Ford deluxe help with a speaker grill problem

If you have the patience of a toothache, a good Dremel tool, a vise with pads and a very steady hand, I bet you can make it fit. Funny thing is, DRAKE made a mistake and sent me 2 radio grilles, I...

Re: 1940 Ford deluxe help with a speaker grill problem

I may be wrong but, I bet the plating process causes the pot metal grille's curvature to change slightly? I recall that happening on Drake's 40 curved DeLuxe hood nose piece when I purchased it. The...

Photobucket photos are blurry.

Why is it that the Photobucket photos posted with threads are too blurry to see? Is it me or my computer?

Re: 8BA in '37 coupe ...

FF: In the meantime, do research and gather up all the parts you will need to stuff that 8BA into your 37. Pay particular attention to the mechanical fan space needs. You might also want to consider...

Re: non restrictive aircleaner

I used 2 similar set ups on a Holly 390 and it works fine. First photo uses a Kand N filter.
I forget what filter came with the 2nd photo but it worked fine also.

Re: 8BA in '37 coupe ...

blucar makes sense. As time passes the cars with the OEM engines will become even more desirable. To have the original engine in an old car makes it more valuable too as it hasn't been "messed...

Re: 8BA in '37 coupe ...

The easiest swap would be to replace your 221 with your perfectly running 59A. You won't notice much difference if you install a stock 8BA. I have an 8BA in my 40.

Re: Head bolt washers

In my 1938-41 Chassis Parts List the pictorial shows a washer along with the stud and nut. However, in the pictorial, there is no separate part # given for the washer. Given the choice, I would use...

Re: 1948 Super Deluxe brakes mysteries solved

Goody gum drop! Glad it was something so simple. Be sure to make a notation on which way to turn the adjusters. If you have a tiny paint brush you can paint an arrow on the adjuster indicating...

Re: What kind of heads are these - 49 Merc flathead?

Probably an idea to flow more water to the rear of the block for better cooling.

Not worth "saving" unless you have tons of $$ and talent.
20 years too late.

Re: front brakes

RalphM: My error. You are correct. You can reuse your old hubs if you install new studs.
I don't know if MT sells the studs.
