A ground problem will cause slow starter action . Paint on the flywheel housing and starter end plate , where the starter mounts can reduce ground to the starter motor .

I have ran full advance at speed for sixty years with no problem . Lugging the engine is not good for the bearings . I prefer increasing speed when approaching hills rather than having to down shift...

I didn't have the chromed shift lever , but if you need a model A transmission top shift assembly rebuilt , send it to Berts in Denver . I had to feel for the gears in my double A , Berts rebuilt it...

I used 3M yellow glue in a spray can . I didn't take note of a part number but the glue has held the matting well over the years . I got the glue at Walmart .

Retarded timing and improper use of the spark is two causes of over heating . Points gap also effects timing . Too little points gap retards timing .

I prefer metal cam gears and haven't noticed any noise as a result . I figure that the main reason that cam gears that aren't metal fail q is because of the use of a rag between the gears to lock...
