As I recall I used the 60 inch ones from Speedway on my 54 Merc. The ones from speedway were excellent quality.

Tim, I believe there may be one on display at the V-8 Museum in Auburn. I recall that Jerry Windle did an article in the V-8 Times some years ago on the Liquamatic.

Hopefully it's a good strong rubber plug with a good flange on it. If not there is a potential for vacuum to pull it into the motor. Living in Willows you should have an auto parts store or Ace...

Other than cowl mount the only other option that I can think of are using the swan neck aftermarket mirrors that mount to the doors.

Make sure the bottom of the cowl has a clean outlet for the water. If the windshield drains were plugged you can bet the cowl is also plugged.

For a turn switch look at the early VW turn switch. They clamp right on the column and look like they might have come from the Ford factory.
