Tricky to drill out the shaft of the bolts without going too deep, or going off center. The blister inside the exhaust manifold is fragile.

The best explanation for the adjustments, and the assembly I have found is in the service bulletins. For the 2 tooth, on pages 318-322, and 363.
Did not look in les Andrews red manual, probably...

To isolate the carb from the under tank shutoff, disconnect the gas line into the carb.

Werner, does the filter have a direction of flow? Seems to me it should be 180 degrees switched so the tapered end would discharge into the carburetor?
Maybe it doesn't matter.

One tool I made, or picked up is a modified 16 Penney nail ground to a almost blunt end with a partial bend to knock the brass Ferrell back toward the inlet from the float valve end.
Might be useful.

It should be pressed in. A broom handle will fit. Support the face of the radiator shell and avoid scratches and dents to the shell in the removal process. Epoxy the emblem back in place after...

I don't see how you will be able to install the pop out with out removing the distributor, and I would drain down the antifreeze first. The cable should only be turned in enough to contact the lower...
