Re: Need info on adapting Model A engine to Model B pickup.

Thanks for all the feedback. I think we might want to go with the V8 since it seems to be the least complicated solution.

Re: Need info on adapting Model A engine to Model B pickup.

The ones I've seen have the problem on #3 cylinder with a crack running from the cylinder bore to the exhaust valve pocket.

Need info on adapting Model A engine to Model B pickup.

My brother has a 1933 Model B pickup with a cracked block that he doesn't think can be properly repaired to be reliable. Early Model B blocks are notorious for this problem. There seems to be only 3...

Re: Bendix conversion F1 vs F100?

One thing to keep in mind...the F100 brake swap will work on a '39 front axle, but will not not work on the rear. The hub/bearing design is completely different on the stock '39 rear axle and will...

Re: Converting 1940 Ford backing plates to self-energizing brakes

Which one do I have?

I just made a nice barn find of a '31 Slant windshield sedan but don't know if it's a 160A or 160B. As you can see from the photos, the spare is hanging from the rear of the car, no sidemounts. it...

Re: S/W 1931 Town Sedan Wiper Removal

Nice car! I just bought a '31 Slant barn find and can't wait to get her running again. She's been asleep in a garage since 1992.

model t compression

I'm sure this topic has been addressed many times, but since I'm new to the model t world what is an acceptable compression reading for a stock engine?
Thanks for any info.

Thumbs up Re: 33 Model B pickup rear axle

Sounds reasonable that Henry would use the same rear axle as the V8 for the Model B since the major drivetrain components changed when the V8 came out - the Model B also used the V8 transmision.

Re: 33 Model B pickup rear axle

My main concern is if the ring and pinion gears are the same as the v8. If so, I just want to switch them out for higher speed 3.78 gears from a 40 Ford. A model A guy told me the 33 half ton...

33 Model B pickup rear axle

Did the 33 Ford Model B 1/2 ton pickup use the same rear axle as the V8 trucks? Would like to change rear gearing to a 3.78 ring & pinion when I changed my 40 Ford to a 3.54. Any fit issues here?...
