Re: bmw woes

Could be the electric water and/or the thermostat gave out. The electric water pump is known to fail around 100k miles. Too much plastic is used throughout the BMW engine to reduce weight.

I’ve...

Re: water pump end play how to stop?

I second Fredís comment. If youíre getting the engine rebuilt, might as well get a leakless water pump and an aluminum two blade fan if you donít already have one. Cheap upgrades compared to the cost...

Re: anyone using aluminum radiators

It’s hard to find one that fits. Some people have reported on a recent thread that the mounting tabs are not correct and they had to do some modifications.

Some of the Chinese companies that make...

M2M,

Why don’t you post all those photos in one thread instead of separately so we don’t have to wade through all the separate posts. Those that want to see photos can do so and those who don’t...

Re: Smooth Shifting The Model A

John,

I suspect you've never been to Arizona in Summer! We never go to the Coachella Valley in Summer when the average temperature is over 100 degrees for three straight months.

Re: Smooth Shifting The Model A

Floats,

I agree completely with your analysis. Some people down shift in order to use the engine to help slow down the car. The faster the car is going the higher you have to rev the engine to...

Re: I Drive A PicUp

i think that goes for most Model A's. Sort of like air cooled rear engined VW's in general and VW Vans in particular.

Don't drive any of them in Florida in a hurricane. In California, don't drive...

Re: Transmission dipstick kit

Hey Bob,

I like your gearshift nob. It looks like it's an antique door knob. I grew up in the '40's and '50's in a house that was built in the late 1890's or early 1900's. All our doors had that...
