I use the model B graphite head gasket from snyders with my 5.5 head from them also.Some prefer the copper gasket.

I have a new one that I installed with my AER rebuilt engine 2100 miles ago . It has functions perfectly so far .I used a new disc from Berts and adjusted the pressure plate fingers at install.

There is no welting between the fender and the running board.I used a piece of cloth friction tape ,it’s not noticeable .

The oil pump is held in place by the spring mounted to the bottom of the pump.No bolt,the hole is sealed with a pipe plug.Dont remember the pipe plug thread size.

Well I didn’t read your post close enough the first time and thought it was a metal canister.Maybe it’s some sort of water injector to help remove carbo from the combustion chambers.Just a guess.
