Re: Interesting read in Hemmings about restoration costs.

Gary, nice cars they look great;) Well done.

I agree with rotorwrench, that the Model A Fords left the Assy. lines in pretty darn good condition. Henry wouldn't have accepted junk. And also, in...

Re: Who Remembers Model "A" Parts in the Sears Catalog?

Yes, and soon people will ask 'What was Sears?'

Going the route of Montgomery Wards and S.S. Kresge Co. which later became K-Mart and then bought by Sears.

Re: One note to modern engine oils

I was at Farm King Friday and saw that they carry Kendall GT-1 20w-50 Performance motor oil, and on the front of the bottle it says 'contains zinc'.

I bought a number of quarts of the stuff, at...

Re: Im going to be buying some tubes and tires. good tubes? bad tubes?

Re: Oval speedometer

Doc oftentimes the reproduction dash panels won't fit quite right, making the bottom two screws not lining up like they should.

Best to let that part ride don't try to force a screw in those two...

Re: Great experience with Schwalm's!

That is a wise move, spend your money up-front for quality and forget it!

And again, thanks for posting your positive review. It is refreshing to hear something good and not somebody bitching...

Re: Model A Fords to be with us for a LONG time yet

Quite true. I passed an early 80's Lincoln Towncar on the road the other day and it was sporting Illinois Antique Plates. Looked to be in fantastic shape. Very legal, just struck me as 'I remember...

Re: Clutch replacement costs...

My comment was totally tongue-in-cheek.

Kind of like Drew Alcazar in the Shelby Mustang world.

He took all the credit for building MCA Gold Standard #1+ cars and SAAC award winning restorations when it was disclosed later that he...
