Trouble with these collars is you have to take the pump off and to pieces to fit the collar. I am sure I saw somewhere a two-part collar that could be fitted over the shaft without removing the whole...

If it's consistently #1 then distribuotr body ( like ryan suggests above )would be my first check. side- play in distribuotr shaft? And we recently across a cam that was so worn down on one...

Red face Headlamps reflectors upside down?

After 2 decades of Model Aing... Have I had my headlamp 2 bulb reflectors upside down?? I've had the parking light at the bottom ... 6 o'clock position ... should it be at the top -12 o'clock...

I ususally trailer phaeton with top down, and I also strap thecloth top somehow so it doesn't fly up or out. Screen I leave upright
ALso wise to either tape down or remove the windscreen wiper...

My method 1) put some fuel in, 2) agitate it with an airline 3) drain 4) repeat until clear (or bored) - No sparks anywhere please!

Over here in UK I reckon the prices have kept on par with inflation generally over the twenty years period. ( maybe marginally better), but that does exclude all the $$$ I've spent on...

Yes I concur with Brad the smaller engine was 18mm dia venturi ( approx 0.7 inch). Suspect that the venturi in the OP is someone's experimentation.

I am always wary of going by any timing marks ever since I came across a Vauxhal (GM to you guys) with superfluous timing marks drilled on the flywaheel. All became OK when we ignored these rogue...

Any visual difference between cut out and electronic regulator?

How can you tell the difference between 1) a simple mechanical cutout 2) an electronic regulator and 3) a cutout that's got a diode in it . Is there any simple way of checking what's inside them...

how long do they last before they're pitted/burnt out? Some of the "modern" type points in particular are poor quality and seem to last only 2000 miles or so whatever.
