1950 ford overdrive transmission

Does anyone have a picture of the way the lever goes on the transmission for the overdrive cable or does the lever go up or down

need a little help

Need a little help when checking the OD solenoid I ground the case to the frame works of the car the do I put the neg. or the pos. wire to post a on the solenoid ?

just went out to the garage and looked at my 50 the screws go in with the heads facing the front of the car threads going to the rear looks like a stubby screw driver would do it

they have round bubbles might take a look and replace your old bubble

Take the side cover off and look inside might be jammed against the syncro just watch how the shifting forks are located ps. Vanpelts are the best just dealt with mac a couple week ago great guy...

Yes it does it also states that the 51-52 with a fordomatic takes a 80 3/4 " speedometer
cable Also that the 49-50 take a 69" cable the wagon takes a 79" cable and the 49-50 with overdrive takes...

parts book says for a 51 speedometer cable is 70 3/4" parts # 1A 17260-A replaced by part # BPA 17260-A for both 3 speed and overdrive

the spring got stuck in the gear and locked the starter up pulled the spring out and it seam to go back and forth ok
