Re: Model A's and Woodstock...

Spent the time in the Jungles of Vietnam. Never heard about it until I returned to the states. I did however buy a 30 Tudor that was waiting for me when I got out.

Re: Wheel painting

Bought a model “A” with black powder coated wheels. Never gave it much thought but upon close inspection all five wheels had bent spokes. Just who in the hell would do that. Trump

Re: Replacing fuel shutoff valve, does tank need to be empty?

Re: Dave Lopes Fordor Model A

My thought has always been we are no longer using original parts on our rebuilds. I would have to think leaving the valve train out would not be a issue. I have had engines balanced electronically...

Re: Dave Lopes Fordor Model A

To what level would one have to bring back a "A" engine to replicate the original engine characteristics. After reading many posts on how original unmolested engines are much smoother then todays...

Re: Balancing

I can see balancing when you are upgrading but as for a stock engine do you feel it was money well spent. My point in advertising if many think they are getting a smoother running engine seat of the...

Re: Balancing

I see advertised by rebuilders they have a balancing service. This is misleading in my opinion. They should tell you what to expect and what not to expect before spending your money. I would like...

Re: Engine Swap

I just wish my "A" ran as sweet as my "T". Perhaps a "T" swap would in order.

Balancing

What does balancing a model "A" and or model "B" engine accomplish. I see these services available but after having both a "A and "B" balanced I am thinking it a waste of money. Apparently these...

I would be more impressed if they had the two back halves mated together.

Re: Heater hose connection

Scatt. The amount needed is too small for aircraft use. Check your local aircraft maintenance facility. They usually throw out pieces this short.

Re: Nu-rex Timing wrench

Nu-Rex and fords method are about the same accurate. If you use either then check with a timing light you will be disappointed. Splitting hairs is not necessary. Fords method worked for millions of...

Re: Engine Idle

The model "B" uses 19 degrees BTDC initial timing, Wouldn't this give a rough idle opposed to TDC for the "A". Somehow this does not make sense. The "A" owners manual says to advance 1/2 after...
