Re: lug nut removal

“According to Google”.

The lug that shows up in lug nut or lug wrench doesn't seem to be directly connected. Instead, it comes from a word that meant a projecting part. Originally, it came from...

Re: Dying your door panels etc ?

I’ve used Dupli-Color vinyl and fabric coating on an interior project (not Model A) a few years ago, I was really happy with the results

Re: Drain valve question

That’s a really good idea. There probably is room, but I’d hate to drill a hole through the tank of my brand new radiator. You’ve got me thinking though.

Re: Drain valve question

Posts # 8 and 9 might on to something, thanks guys. I know everyone says, “let it seek it’s own level”. I agree with that, but I want to know where that is.

Re: Drain valve question

All good points:
It isn’t pressurized
Once the level goes below the baffle, I don’t know where it is
I saw the Snyder product, seems a bit pricy
I’ll leave the drain valve in place
It’s an...

Re: Drain valve question

Thanks. This is a Brassworks radiator with the drain valve on the engine’s water inlet pipe.

Drain valve question

I’m looking for the thread type and size of the radiator drain valve. I’d like to make a radiator level sight glass (actually clear tubing) and install it at the drain valve. Thanks in advance for...

Re: Lining up UJ and Diveshaft splines, any tips?

I just put the transmission in neutral and have the back wheels off the ground and the E-brake off. Both splines should be very easy to turn. Keep your fingers out if there though in case something...

Re: convert to LED headlights

A special thanks to Ian at Creating Connections (Logo Lites) in Duluth, Georgia. I sent my flickering LEDs back to them last week. After a couple of troubleshooting discussions over the phone, he...

That’s funny Marty. I’ll try that next time they call.

Re: Warranty

It’s not in the copy of the “Model A Instruction Book” I have either.
I’ll give Car Shield a call to see if I can get an extension on my warranty.

Re: Tudor front seat "cups"; 2 different heights??

I had the taller ones on a ‘29 Tudor. I switched to the short ones, It seems to give the seats more of a reclining position. The car isn’t judged, just driven for enjoyment.

Warranty

Does anyone have information on the original warranty on a new Model A? I wonder what was covered and for how long.

Re: First Time Tire Change

A screwdriver sounds like a really nice way to reach the tube resulting in a not so nice cut. Yep, like Juggler said, “get the tire tools”. I bought 2 from Harbor Freight, I wish I had gotten 3.

Re: convert to LED headlights

I recently installed Logolites LED “bulbs” in new reproduction headlights. Honestly I haven’t driven the car at night to see if they need adjusting or how bright they are. But, the low beams blink...

Re: 2 tone paint on 28 sedan???

Very carefully pull the tape off as soon as you’re finished painting the moldings. It’ll eliminate almost all of that line you’re concerned about feeling. I used single stage paint.

Re: Installation of parking brake coil spring ?

Keep in mind, they’re side specific. That usually adds to the challenge of putting them on.

Re: Installing headlight bar

I had the same problem with my 29 Tudor. I loosened the bolts holding the fender brackets to the frame, bolted everything up loosely, then tightened all of the bolts. Whatever works.

Re: 28 Tudor Emergency brake location

To relocate the handle’s position, wouldn’t the E-Brake cross shaft need to be replaced also, or would the rod to the cross-shaft still work? Asking for a “friend”.

Re: engine / trans install question

I recently installed (my first) engine and transmission as one unit. I did it with no help, the body on the car (‘29Tudor), original style motor mounts, a home made frame spreader with the rear end...

Re: Changing Grease Fittings to Type

I just went to a local auto parts store with the old grease fittings and had them match the threads for the threaded ones and the size for the press in type. They all fit very well.
