Re: Doors banging

Where does the rubber go on these doors? They don't have any that I can see at present. The doors close tightly. It seems like the door oscillates in the door frame when the roads are not smooth.

Re: Doors banging

The body blocks were purchased new about 5 years ago from Snyder's. It is entirely possible that I have not shimmed the body properly. I will double check the mounting bolts to see if I forgot to...

Re: Doors banging

There seems to be a lot of body flex. Is this normal? This is the only Model A I have ever driven or even ridden in. It has been a project for way too long.

Doors banging

The doors on my 31 Tudor seem to be banging against the outer door frame as I drive on less than perfect roads. It is almost like the doors are slightly too small. Does anyone have any idea why...

Re: For those who don't have a four post lift......

Is it only open at midnight during a full moon? The rest of the time it just looks like an abandoned Ford Garage?

Re: Brush on car paint (Rustoleum)?

I used tractor paint from Tractor supply. The Black really shines if you add the hardener. I used a small smooth roller for large areas and a brush to get in tight places.

Re: Crank shaft pulley wobbles

That sounds about right to me. I have looked it over pretty good and it is not loose at all. It just has a little run out when turning. Probably been that way as long as I have owned it. I will...

Re: Crank shaft pulley wobbles

Daveymac29 If I understand you correctly the crank will tighten the pulley? It seems tight as I was attempting to turn the engine and finally realized I still had it in gear. There was no...

Re: Crank shaft pulley wobbles

Appears to be a two piece. Doesn't seem to be loose in any way. I have a feeling it has been this way for a long time. I was timing the engine and noticed it today. I looked at some you tube...

Crank shaft pulley wobbles

I noticed a wobble in the crank shaft pulley that drives the belt for accessories. Is this normal or is it indicating imminent catastrophe?

Re: Interesting read in Hemmings about restoration costs.

I remember getting a 1959 Chevy painted for 29.99 at Earl Scheib back in the early 70s Looked great to me at the time.

Re: No comment

Years ago there was a guy that had one painted in Oklahoma University colors that drove it to Dallas every year for the Texas/OU football game at the Cotton Bowl. I thought it looked good and I was...

Re: How do I identify a two blade aluminum fan

My fan will not attract a magnet. I had thought of this but I also was not sure what the original fans were made of. Some things you assume are ferrous turn out not to be. Thanks for reply.

How do I identify a two blade aluminum fan

Is there a quick way to determine if I have an original or the replacement two blade fan short of removing it? Any identifying features or marks?

Re: hydraulic brakes

There is d definite formula regarding M/C size and the wheel cylinders. I put an incorrect one on an MG TD and got a very hard pedal and very little stopping power. A correct M/C corrected the...

You might google the "ACCUWEATHER" forecast for Dallas/Ft. Worth. So far it looks ok but will be rainy earlier in the week here.

Re: Is fuel bubbling normal

Good to know. I bought the $26.00 one at Harbor Freight. Should read close enough for what I need but I will have the engine shut down before using it. Thanks for the heads up.

Re: Is fuel bubbling normal

This car does not have a glass sediment bowl. That is why I used the plastic filter. I felt like some kind of filter was probably needed and that was handy.

Re: Is fuel bubbling normal

A dose of upper lube sounds like a good idea. I will start using it in the Ford and also my MG. I learn new things all the time here.

Re: Is fuel bubbling normal

Plastic filter is far from the manifolds but I'm probably going to get rid of it as I'm sure it is a weak link in the system.
