Re: How important is the oil pan baffle

Probably not too important except on steep hills, washboard roads, jack rabbit starts/stops, high speed sharp turns, roundy-round racing, etc.

Re: HOW TO IDENTIFY a 6V and a 12V VOLTAGE REGULATOR

Any stampings on frame bottoms or sides? Could be under the covers too.

Probably haven't soaked or ran it long enough. If it was mine, I'd liberally squirt an MMO stream at it through the plug hole, Maybe let it...

Re: Petcock

Might be better to simply replace with brass pipe plugs. Easier to get plugs in and out with wrench than turn a handle in that location.

Re: flathead camshaft covers

Stampings deform easier than castings. Castings crack easier than stampings, Which feature do you prefer? .:D

Re: 2 wire versus 3 wire circuit breaker?

Nope. Breakers have mechanical parts subject to shock, vibration, dust, water, oil, etc Henry's breakers were more like old style bi-metallic strip furnace thermostats that weren't particularly...

Re: Any value in a 21 stud flattie?

>>Should I be worried I have a 21 vs. 24?>>>

Maybe. If my calculations are correct, a 24 has 14.3% more studs than a 21. But a 21 has only 12.5% less studs than a 24. :D

Re: 1937 Oil Bath Air Cleaner

Why can't you print the image? Looks eminently readable to me. Then make your own decal by laminating the print. I've even used clear packing tape to make a durable laminate.

How do you know it needs to be replaced? Try to describe how much you think it's leaking during & after a good run.

Google search 'flathead ballast resistor 6 volt' for vendors who ship to your location. $10-20usd.

1244A. But it's 12volts negative ground. Amazon has them as well as cheaper clones.
