Rear spring shackles
Is it possible to replace rear spring shackles while the rear axle assembly is still attached to the car?

Yes, had a similar experience, suffered sooty walls and ceiling, no further damage thanks to my cat going bonkers and demanding I put down the paper and go check the garage. Not to mention the wife...

Actually sounds as if you want the piece of wood that fits up in the corner where the slots are. That what you put your roof tacks into, yeah, they are pricey.

Charging?? Can’t say it is
So alternator (6v)shows good output, but battery is not getting charged. Charges up just fine using a charger, and lasts a while. ( have not tried to get to s. Dakota yet) but would be nice to have...

If alternator is working, should I be able to remove one battery terminal and the motor will continue running on the alternator output?

These are the holes in the upper door on the coupe, what are they for? Second photo are original inserts I dug out of the dovetail.

Ok, so what does this assembly do? Does the brass insert fit tight to the dovetail when the door is closed, for alignment and to hold it from rattling.

29 coupe running boards
So looking at my running boards, the outside edge has the same cross section configuration as the zinc or stainless strip trim piece, as if there was never intended to be a trim piece installed....
