Re: '39 4 door convertable

I'm familiar with that car and it is a very nice convertible sedan. It's a great price for a car of that quality.

Re: vega steering in 36

The Saginaw 525 is the better way to go. Much stronger box and not much bigger than a Vega box. You can get brand new ones from Borgeson or can find good used ones at swap meets for $25 or so.

Re: 1940 Ford accessory hot water heater installation

I think Kube had a pattern for the genuine Ford one. If you have any other type/brand of heater you may be on your own.

Re: 1940 ford pickup metal floor board

Try some Syl Glide. It's a silicone grease that won't harm the rubber.

Re: 34 front window size

Check with Drake. they used to sell glass patterns. Or check with an older glass shop in your area as they may have patterns on file.

Re: Hershey AACA Eastern Fall Meet - 2021.

Hey you can always enter the US from the southern border as you can just run across and nobody cares. It only makes your travel to Hershey a little longer.

Re: 41 fuel tank replacement (Tanks)

Check around as I'm sure somebody makes a new tank with the correct fuel pickup location. Some time back I put a new tank in a '46 ford and it had the correct location. As I recall I think it was a...

Re: Paint color for 1940 std faceplate instrument panel

Take the panel to a local hobby store and see if you can find a small spray can that is close or the same as the tan/yellow color. Then look for some brown striping tape for the stripes. You might...

Re: 40 tudor replacement quarter glass

Call the vendor who sells the "bugs", but most likely you need to use one "bug" per glass.

Re: 1946 Grill Guard

There's one on e-Bay now for $299 and it has been rechromed. At the price of chrome today it's a good deal in my book.

Re: 39 Deluxe questions.

How old are the tires? You could have a cord/tread separation if they are old.

Re: Headlight problems

The circuit breaker is on the inside of the firewall just above the steering column. Also check your dimmer switch as the problem could be there.

Re: Ford whitewall tires

By now they are probably repo tires. Check with the various antique tire manufacturers. I can't recall who made them or sold them. I would start with Lucas Tire Company.

Re: Headlight problems

Follow the light wires from the switch all the way to the front and back. Sounds like you have a bare wire touching some metal. If you have an old wire harness it may be time for a new one. '40 has a...

I have an NOS bracket for the '46. It fits behind the cross bar between the two guards. $25 plus actual shipping cost. PM me if you want it. Actually I have more than one if anyone needs another one.
