Re: Peep mirrors

Accidents are a huge PIA. I have a hinge pin mirror on each side. They are not bad, and well worth the few bucks paid. As far as I know safety items are not a deduct for points when fine point...

Re: My new Ford.

In 1922 and continuing through 1925 Ford produced over 1million cars each year. 2,011,125 in 1923. Think about that. The Ford pickup is the best selling vehicle today, and they still do not...

Re: Throttle linkage and spring on engine side of firewall

My 57 has an automatic. Does anyone know the theory of operation of that linkage? I mean that little pair of tirangle plates and the little spring attached to it? The manual transmission cars do...

Re: Pressurized center main bearing?

Brent, how in the world do you get that fittings' shoulders to pass (rotate) without hitting and stopping you from threading it into (installing after threading) the block. Those surfaces, or boses,...

Re: Deep knocking sound

Re: Fan Shroud 1957-1959 Ford Big car

You can make a schrould from some sheets of styrafoam that they use under the siding on houses. Stake the squares up. Cut and shape them to suit. Wrap with time foil. Fiberglass resin and...

Re: Narrow bed or wide bed

They sure are. Most years I go to a somewhat big regional car show and a guy drives a AA over sometimes. That thing is huge compared to my Tudor.

Re: White wall tires

Re: dead battery

When I was a kid I worked at a service station, and we worked on tons of cars, towing too. If you ever saw a battery bow up you would never even consider such a thing.

If a battery has just a...

I do too. My granddad would give me a quarter, and send me 1 block down (walking) to the Humble Oil station (tiger in your tank...anyone remember those?) with a 1 gallon gas can for the mower. The...

Re: 54 Meteor (Ford) rear axle seals.

OK, I have never used a slide hammer to pull one. Do this; 1) Get a helper 10 year old grandson, neighbor, wife whomever. 2) put a prybar under the head of the axle, preferable on each side at the...

Re: Timing gear cover

Re: Deep knocking sound

Try pulling the spar plug copper feed wire from the distributor to the spark plug, and restart. One by one. If the sound goes away it's a rod that needs taken up. Easy to do, and costs nothing,...

Re: Frame numbers

So could a person simply unbolt the flywheel housing and move it from engine to engine? Is that number visible with the engine in the car?
