Re: KRW shock absorber wrench

This bought back memories. At our old home in Detroit (1964) you will find two 1/2" holes drilled into the concrete driveway that just happen to align with the bolt holes of a Model A shock... what...

Re: Trico Vacuum Wiper Parts Identification

Thanks guys, one learns something new here all the time. I see a note about "sewing machine oil" , never knew that the wiper motor could benefit from a shot of light oil. This could have been bad...

Re: Main and Rod Shim Sequence ???

Thanks for the informative discussion. So I think that I get it … about the normally greater wear on the center main. It seems that the best procedure for an "in the car" adjustment would be as...

Re: rumble seat ins & outs

To X-hatch ot not to X-hatch?

An interesting side issue that came out of the recent "babbit tolerance" discussion was the Ford process for finishing cylinder bores. Being a engine manufacturing guy I found it unusual that the...

Re: babbit tolerance? .000?

And Dad and I used to laugh at his story of having to tow his "A" around the block after doing a (not so good) bearing job on the engine. This, back in the early 40's when he was an aspiring shade...

Re: brake shoe inspection

Just wondering …. what is the "pin hole" that measures only .006 - .010 on a brake shoe? I'm trying to visualize a shoe and can't image any feature that tiny.
