'29 roadster doors

My doors appear fine on my car. They close tightly, stay closed while driving and do not rattle. They open/close easily. Today I met a roadster owner who commented that, when shut tight, the door...

Re: Stipe shocks

I was there on Sept 13th and had a tour of the shop and talked with several of the crew. On a white board in the office they had a list of the shock orders. I was at the bottom. They told me they...

Re: GAV Adjustment While Driving?

I like Patrick L's thoughts. I deal with GAV adjusting in the spring at the first start up, then I leave it alone. Choke on starting when cold. Nothing else. Usually get 17-18 mpg with spark 3...

Roadster front floor mat

I have one. Came with the car. Even on warm days it is a problem to flex. I'd guess it contains a small & of real rubber. Is there a source for a good rubber mat ? I don't see many details in the...

Re: seat belts

Kenjt: I think getting under the car will be easier than being doubled over trying to work in the rumble area. But, suit yourself. Maybe a steel piece horizontally across the foot area of the rumble...

Re: seat belts

I did the same as Werner. Hold the bolt head with vise grips clamped horizontally while you are under the car working on the nut, lock washer and such. They will hit something and will not rotate...

Re: rebuilt transmission

I had a local car restorer rebuild mine. Gears were badly worn as were the bearings. He is not a Model A specialist but is a good mechanic. That was five years, 8800 miles ago. You do not need a...

Re: How to Distinguish Repro from Original Instrument Panels?

Originals were nickel plated, repros are chrome. Put them side by side and the chrome is brighter, nickel has a softer tint, a bit yellow.

Re: Battery Switch Wires

The purpose of the switch is to break the wire so current can't pass and complete the circuit. Most break the ground wire. Ground at battery to switch then other switch contact to frame. If you have...

Re: 29 roadster top

If you have a real '29 top it will fold down. Take some time on each side and stuff the material in so the top will go down neater and lower. If you have something somebody made themselves you might...
