Pictured outside of a rock quarry UK, probably cooling of its brakes. The other picture is the same place 1986, note the road way has not changed.

Not sure about the truck on the right, It seems it is a UK picture, the truck next to it is a drop side, most trucks there used them there to be able to unload curbside, I also see right hand...

John,
The picture you posted in post #68 is not of a GAZ truck, it is in fact the first production vehicle, (a AA) to roll off the assembly line at the Dagenham UK plant Oct 1931.
