Re: '35 tie rod clamps; tacked on??

Detonator, I believe that at least one tie rod supplier to Ford in 1935 tacked the end clamps to the rod. I also believed that they were tacked in only one place on each clamp. Here's a drawing...

Re: 1936 PU original colors, purple and yellow?

S Steamer...Your statement that the upper half of your truck was painted purplish/blue leads me to think that you may not have a demonstrator truck painted by Ford. Ford was pretty strict when it...

Re: curve at bottom of '36 rear fender

Steve, Your problem might not be the fender. Look at these images from Bob Drake showing his 36 fender. A friend bought one a while back and it fit perfectly.

Re: 1936 aluminum heads dome/no dome

Frank, The 68 head had a slightly larger combustion area in the head than the 48. Thus the warning not to mix the 48 and 68 heads together.

Re: 1936 aluminum heads dome/no dome

yoyodyne, A 35 pickup would have aluminum heads while a 36 pickup would have 40-6049/50-B cast iron heads.

frnkeore...The "40" prefix head came out in 1933 as an aluminum head with 18mm spark plug threads. In 1934, "A" was added to the part number as a suffix to distinguish the aluminum head from the...

Re: 35/6--maybe later luggage rack

Here's a summary of racks and brackets that I made up a few years back. Engineering releases never indicate that the racks or brackets were to be used on coupes, roadsters or cabriolets!!!!

Re: 35/6--maybe later luggage rack

Re: 35-36 truck grill lacing

Here's some photos that might help. The lacing is held to the grille shell by metal clips. The clips are fastened to the lacing by split rivets.
