It runs good. Thought since it gets such occasional use it is probably carboned up. Just wanted to hear opinions on Sea foam. I'll leave it alone.

Short answer= 230 is too hot.
If you are cruising at 65 mph and can't stay below 210 something is wrong with your heat exchange. Most old cars have the opposite problem. Good temps at speed and...

They are supposed to be pretty loose. 1/2"-3/4" deflection.

High zinc levels and detergents "don't play well together" is what the applications engineer at the Lucas Oil booth said. That's why the racing oils aren't meant for on road use. He said racing oil...

3/8" or even a little less is common. My stock flathead V8 was .410" away from the fan blades. But with my aftermarket radiator it is now about 5/16 (.312").
The closer the better (on a car). Cars...

I've read the opposite. They say going synthetic on an old dirty conventional oil engine can cause leaks because of the cleaning action synthetic is good at. And I experienced that myself first hand....

So the long leg of the T would go back to the tank? If so, then what are you soldering closed? ... and then drilling open again? I'm confused.

Can anyone recommend a 6 volt kit replacement wiring kit that is good quality? not the expensive fabric wire reproduction?
