Re: SILV-O-LITE 8-1017 Piston Info?
Yeah, I'm thinking I'll have to bore it to a more standard and available size.
I talked to Ross and they said .100 over would have to be custom. I looked at Egge and their L-991 do come in.100...

Re: SILV-O-LITE 8-1017 Piston Info?

SILV-O-LITE 8-1017 Piston Info?
Howdy,
I have a barn find 1941 Mercury block in the machine shop and after a parts wash, it looks like it was freshly bored, covered in grease, and stuck in the corner to collect dust for...

Yeah, I found it difficult to get ahold of him after he stole my gas tank. Months of radio silence between replies.
After something like a year and a half, I finally bugged him enough to get a...

Engine ID - check my math
Picked up this pile of parts for super cheap. I think I see some T parts mixed in, so I don't know if these V8 parts ever went together or if this was a pile of leftovers.
Based on my research,...

Thanks for the info, pals.
I've emailed you, Neil.
I have been set on getting a LeBaron Bonney seat.. just waiting for their material sample packet to arrive so I can brainstorm a bit. But, if...

'29 CCPU seat shopping - what do I need?
I'm in the market for a seat for my 1929 Closed Cab Pickup. This is what I'm working with.
I want to stay stock, so no minivan or S-10 or anything else. I've mentally swallowed the pill for the...

As an engineer, I get tired of... anti-science personal anecdotes.
Your sample size of a single failure doesn't discredit the rest of us who have used the process successfully.
The fact...

Re: Spring bolt
So, what's the deal with the current suppliers center bolts? Their recommended lengths are about 2-3 inches too long. The nut bottoms out before it even sandwiches the leafs.

Re: I.D. Plate?
My plate is also blank, from 90 years of use, abuse, etc.

I just replaced the shackle bushings in my front end. Sure as can be, I don't even need to use the nice reamer I just bought. They're so loose and sloppy, it's offensive. They're worse than the worn...

Re: 1/2 @$$ fix
Just had him do mine a month ago. I "waited" at the Irwindale Mooneyes show for a couple hours. Came back and my brakes were done. Installed them last week.
A heck of a bargain.
