On my 39 ford deluxe the battery gauge has an ‘n’ between the H at the top and the C at the bottom. The owners manual doesn’t explain what the N stands for. Is it for normal

Temperature gauge assembly

I am replacing the temperature gauge assembly on my 1939 Ford and am having trouble getting the old nut off the head. I’ve tried soaking it with master blaster but it won’t budge.
Any ideas?

I need a temperature gauge assembly for my 1939 Ford Deluxe. part # 91A-10883.
Every site I have tried informs me that the part has been discontinued.

Any ideas where else to look.

Stuck Valve

I have a stuck valve that we have tried Mystery Oil, tapping on the valve and today removed the intake. The valve will not come down.

Headlights

How do you mount a seal beam headlight into a 39 Ford headlight bucket? When my father had the car he put the extensions on but I wanted to go back to the flush with the fender look.

Troubleshooting

Finally hooked up new battery after sitting idle for a few years. All new wires.
When I hit the starter button I get “kerplunk” kind of noise. Nothing else.

Still the original motor so I assume...

Hood Ornament for 39 Deluxe

Anyone ever have a problem with a new hood ornament fitting on the original hood. I bought one from Bob Drake and it does not contour properly to the hood.

I bought the spring supports from Bob Drake. I do have the 2 holes in the pinch welded area.
Guess I bought the wrong ones. I have the old springs and they didn't have the small brackets.

Do I need the small bracket that comes on one version of the spring support. The new ones I bought do not have the small bracket that attaches to the firewall.

What is best to use to reset glass in Rear quarter window frame to seal it? It appeared to be some sort of rubberized window channel in the original.
