Re: Helmet Distributor Issues

Also, take the vacuum brake piston out of the bore so it is not riding on the plate that changes the timing when setting it up on a machine that spins the shaft.
I would calculate what % 22 1/2 is...

Re: Annual MONSTER Swap Portland, Or

I hope the days don't change without advance notice for the next year. I have already booked my room for 3 nights next year. (3rd, 4th and 5th 2025)

Re: 6V vs 12V condenser

Re: Skip Haney

It would be an interesting story for someone to write about. I believe it was his late friend who used to post here as "GM" that convinced Skip to set up to rebuild water pumps and coils. George...

Re: Annual MONSTER Swap Portland, Or

Dale, an Expo person (not from one of the clubs putting the meet on) or one hired by them asked me to take a survey. One of the questions was would I be in favor of a 2 day meet with longer shopping...

Re: Annual MONSTER Swap Portland, Or

Re: Tiny ends heavy axles

I wouldn't run an axle that had that oddball long drop done to it for safety reasons plus it looks funky. We had a guy from a frame and axle shop speak at one of our Ford club meetings and he told...

Re: What did you do today that was flathead V8 related?

My 40 coupe gas gauge registered near empty so I went to the non ethanol gas station 2 miles from my house and thought I would fill it up. Only took 3 gallons. Pulled the sender out and the brass...

Re: Powder coat VS paint for wheels

I used to do woodgraining and to avoid having chips where the screws hold the parts, I always used a counter sink by hand to clear out the high build primer in the screw holes to keep the layers of...

Re: At a loss. 1949 Ford flathead V8

Take all the plugs out and do a compression test on all cylinders at wide open throttle with someone helping you. Maybe there are some intake valves that are not opening. If it were mine and I...

Re: Question about Grille 1940 Standard / 1940-41 Pickup

I see I didn't make that clear. Sorry about that saying it was an early car built in Sept or Oct. obviously 39 not 40! I use age as an excuse.

Re: Powder coat VS paint for wheels

Getting custom matched powder to match you paint is an expensive and time-consuming task. What I have done on the last 3 of my cars I have painted is this:
Have your wheels checked for run out and...

Re: Question about Grille 1940 Standard / 1940-41 Pickup

At one time I had 5 NOS ones that came with my coupe. I will look and see what they have. I only have 1 in the car and 1 spare at this point. Hope to see you at Portland.
