When I put the short piece 2/4 under the spring to slide on I grease the 2/4 on top to slide on. Its helps a good bit.

I just made a spring sprayer so I can change the front and rear spring on my 32. I had one like this that I use on Model A's Manny times. I will tie the springs so they can't fly up and kill me. e...

You need Jack stands and a floor jack to remove the rear end. That how I do it. Just slide the rear end back enough to remove the driveshaft.
