Many thanks. Karl was...

Remove crankshaft pulley

How do I slide the pulley off the end of the crankshaft - any safe slick tricks?

Thanks.

Re: Some preliminary advice

Thank you, Davis J and Uncle Bub. I do remember reading something about the 3" and 3 1/4" difference but didn't recall where to measure. I'll check the throwout bearing area on the bell housing also....

Thanks a lot, MrBruce!

It's been snowing here since Saturday night and the temperature hasn't gone above 12 degrees. Fortunately not a lot of accumulation but enough snow in the face to last me...

Some preliminary advice

Before trying to start my '32 Fordor with a '36 motor, I want to drop the pan and clean it out, check the oil pump and see if it's really an LB (haven't found any letters stamped on the block under...

Needed for '32 Fordor

1. Long-hub fan, part #18-8600

2. Front seat runners

3. Any ideas on how to get ahold of these!

Thanks,

Fred

5w30?

Being part Scot, I'd like to use some 5W30 oil that has been on the shelf for a while in a '36 engine (not a rebuild) that I've never run. Will that be acceptable or should I not be so frugal (notice...

Re: "Tis a puzzlement, at least to me

A stuck valve it was! Number one - not bad - it freed up easy.

Many thanks to all who responded.

Thanks again for your input.

Took out starter - all beautiful. Crank pulley moves back and forth about 3".

Re: "Tis a puzzlement, at least to me

Thanks. Clutch in, everything rotates fine - from the rear wheel. But using the crank, still the same thud...thud. Seems a bit more metallic as the wheel moves forward and it seems to be louder on...

"Tis a puzzlement, at least to me

'36 engine: I thought it was frozen - until I jacked up a rear wheel and discovered that there is about 6" of wheel movement each way before it stops with a gentle thud.

Many thanks for your...

Re: 32 Fordor seat runners

Haven't checked back for a while- I'll get some pictures of the upper part (attaches to the seat itself) which may give you an idea what the part that attaches to the floor looks like.

Thanks.

32 Fordor seat runners

Does anyone have or know of a source for the floor part of the seat runners for a 1932 Fordor. Mac's replacements require a number of new holes in the floor which I'd rather not make.

Thanks for...
