Re: Trunk Lid won't open

The handle lock bolt could still be installed with the lock cylinder removed. The bold may have moved into the lock position preventing the handle from moving. See if you can insert a small...

Re: 33 5w coupe rear window drain tube.

My 34 5W also had the clamp and remnants of the hose to drain in the same location. I do have the hole in the floor for the tube in the other location.

Re: 1947 Lincoln Zephyr

Not an expert here but I looked over the electrical drawings. The hydraulic system is for the windows, I saw no switch for the trunk or electrical wiring in the trunk for an opener. For Ford from...

Re: syncro hub position for second

I am confused, the hub is the center part of the syncro and the syncro sleeve is the outer part. On the early syncro with 6 steel balls the hub moves on the splined shaft and the later syncros with...

Re: 1936 Overheating Problem

35-6 are prone to over heat issues. Ford added modifications to several items such as louvers to the inner fender panels of 36 to improve cooling but they work best when the car is moving. IMO I...

Re: Gas tank sender unit.

Look the sender over VERY closely even with a magnifying glass to make sure there are no cracks in ANY solder joint especially where the tubes go through the mounting plate and where they enter the...

Re: 1937 Ford V8 Steering Box Bushes

They do look correct to me also. You can not hammer the new bushings into place and they MUST be started evenly.

Re: adjusting 39 Ford pickup shocks

The small adjustment usually makes a very big difference. are the shocks full of fluid? Go ahead and move the pointer 3/8" When were the shocks rebuilt?

Re: 1935 Ford Pickup Transmission hard to get into reverse! HELP!

Hard to tell what is the problem from here but if you have not rebuilt the top shift mechanism it may be time. Does the problem occur at idle, while down shifting, with engine off??? A bit more info...

Re: adjusting 39 Ford pickup shocks

Turn CW to increase resistance and CCW for less. Suggest you take a note of your start point and only move about 1/32" at a time.

Re: Do you think a sleeve will fix this?

check out some of the thick wall sleeves. They can be sealed so there is no water seepage. I have seen holes as big as a walnut in a bore repaired.

Re: Mystery gauge...Speedo??

Speedometer internals. You will have to find a SW parts catalog, to find the year since most of the early Fords appear identical with minor difference. Ford used speedometers made by three...

Re: 1936 LB engine fuel pump stand to intake

Ford used the oil baffle tube from 35 till 48. I have never seen a document to insert the tube in any specific direction, for these years, nor is it marked such.

Re: Headlights

The 39 Ford car did not use sealed beam headlights. Look in the web site for Bob Drake reproductions.

Re: Radiator Cap

The original cap is not a pressure cap. Adding a pressure cap will eventually bulge the upper brass tank of the radiator.
