Dick,if this is for your AV8, clearance can be a problem at the header.
F100 box steering shaft is at the top like an A box.
F1 box steering shaft is at the bottom ,often giving more clearance.

i use a muffler air hammer with a flat punch end. I screw the nut on perch Enough to keep the punch centered.
Heat the axle and use the air hammer. Often the perch comes out ok.

Yes the measurements are incorrect. The distance from radiator to front mount and the method to locate the rear crossmember are wrong.
I left the front mounts and the K member loose with the engine...

You do not use the crass shaft. The pedal is hooked to a bell crank at the side of the box by a clevis rod. The bell crank actuates the master cylinder mounted on the box.
