as well as all above .... poor condenser (or condenser not earthing correctly) can also cause overheating of coil.)

Yes I've had 2 Viton tipped ones sticking closed. ( out of a batch of about 20)
I don't trust any float valve needle now unless I've tested it!

OK since we're all shooting at this ... No spark at plugs, and starter motor not working ..BUT as the battery is new..... with a multimeter or test light or simply a bulb with a couple of wires...

I have found that with a very low fuel level the car misfires on powering the throttle; the fuel in the bowl acts as "reservoir" for sudden demand. ( and of course the sloshing effect of sudden...
