look in the service bulletins , there IS a difference for new and used pinion bearing preload.

Look around, you can find an old pommy one and just swap the guts over, thats what I did.
Only small problem is the screw holes are half a hole around compared to the ford one.

you can fix up the play in the sector shaft to worm easy in the 7 tooth boxes.what you do is make an ecxentric bush for the sector shaft so its will just turn in the housing,leave it about 10 mm...

I have in my spares a black steering wheel ,that looks very near to the 33 and 34 ones ,BUT ,it is about 1/2 inch bigger in diameter and has a thicker rim.
to fit a tapered shaft and has two keyways...

Ok ,thanks, Will order some new ends.
I just fitted the new worm to my old shaft, I made a collet and holder for the shaft ,worked great.pressed it on in the press,took a few tons though.

Is the 40-3311 stud thats in the 33/34 a taper fit in the arm, not straight
Its looks like a straight shaft into the arm, not a taper in my parts books.

Would any one know if the taper on the 40-3311 drag link stud is the same taper as the later 11A-3290-A drag link end.
that is would the later 11A -3290-A end fit into the 33/34 steering arm....

Our 33 had got a little more play in the steering than I liked , so after a good look at it found the sector shaft bushes had play in them allowing the sector shaft to move around.
