Thank you all for your input. I changed out the alternator for the generator, still 14 - 15 amps, however when I put headlights on it drops to negative 15, with alt. It dropped to 3ish. Thoughts?

Sooo, here’s a head scratcher, I went for a ride, the fan belt delaminated, I put on a new belt, ammeter is back where it should be. Thoughts?

All of a sudden, my 1930 , 6v with alternator, is reading 15 amps, drops when I turn on lights.

Hello all , I run a 6 v pos ground alt with directional harness. all of a sudden ammeter shows a 3 amp draw with key on not running, when starts it pegs the other way, also when not running still...

I used a piece of foam pipe insulation, opened the windshield, stuffed it in, rattle 90% gone. Thanks guys

Mine is a new header so screws are tight, I’m thinking of removing and greasing the hinge reinstall and go for a ride.

Vin is February '30, crossmember was changed out at some point,rivets are not factory installed.

While assembling my 30 ccpu I realize the crossmember is a 28/29. It looks like I have to pull the engine in order to change it out. Do I take the tranny with the engine or disconnect the bell...

molasses, thats right,fill the tank with dilluted molasses leave it for a month or so and your tank and /or sheet metal parts will be rust free.
