Here’s a way us old timers used to do it get the engine warm then shut it OFF have someone sit in there and hold the pedal down put it in second gear get a couple strong buddy’s over and rock it back...

i can relate to the problem had the same thing with my 50 cpe. to make a long story short my flywheel was also surfaced but the first shop that did it put it on a surface grinder after another take...

I eliminated my problem by doing away with any fuel containing ethanol worst thing you can do is use that fuel in anything with a carb

Just my opinion i bought a Champion 3 row aluminum from Jegs about 8 years ago it fit perfectly excellent workmanship they have them for under $300.00 put it in my 50 cpe dropped the engine...

i also had a vibration on my 50 cpe fought with that problem for a year or so changing different pieces along the way then after replacing motor mnts which did help i took the fly wheel to a machine...

Dont always go by the dip stick how much oil did you put in it i agree with woodyman good friend of mine had a similar problem with his 35 v8 p up then he drained and only put in 4.5 quarts problem...

Just to add one more thing what’s wrong with using 80-90 gear oil with a little lucas oil supplement works great for me thank you

In all my years working on old cars trucks whatever i have always kept the oil below the filler hole at least one inch you’ll still have plenty of lubricant ,to full causes foaming good luck

the upper gsk showing signs of wetness is somewhat normal if it’s dripping fuel then there’s a float problem or needle and seat but either way it needs to come apart like 38 coupe suggested good luck

First check the filter to make sure it’s the right one for the canister does it sit to high and like was said maybe the cover is bent then try putting 2 gaskets in and see what happens good luck
