Re: Gas in oil

I recently had something similar and found a hairline crack in the bottom the bowl. I have heard that can happen from over tightening the power valve.

Re: No spark '31

I've got a repro on order while I look for an original one. Is there a good way to tell original from repros? Did ford stamp a part number in the case or anything like that? I know originals were...

Re: CA YOM License Plate Program Question

Yeah, don't expect things to go fast. I transferred the title for a '31 sport coupe 2 months ago now (mid sept '21). I submitted the YOM plate paperwork at the same time. I called the DMV 2 weeks...

Re: Headliner

'39's definitely came with a headliner. 'full' cardboard interior in fact. As far as repros go, I am happy with mine, and they are available in other colors besides the stock green. Take a look at...

Re: No spark '31

The simplified diagram did it for me - thanks! I had tried everything I could think of until I saw the ammeter in series with the ignition system. A bad ammeter could fit what I saw - low voltage...

No spark '31

I am trying to solve a no spark problem with no luck so far. I am new to A's but have some V8 era experience.

It was running (not terribly well - little power on hills). When I went to pull it...

Re: 39 pickup Cartouche interior

I should have taken pictures of that while it was out too. Unfortunately all I can provide is a written description unless I find my drawings for the piece parts. The sheet metal that is there is...

Re: 1939 pickup head light wiring harness

Hope these help a little from my '39 pickup. I do not know if how it is done is correct. The 2 examples I have seen were missing the wiring completely or it had been redone with loose wire. There...

Re: Any thoughts on Optima 6V

I am a big fan of either optima for use in my cars, but if you are not using it for high current stuff, use a power supply instead. Old PCs have power supplies in them that put out 5 and 12 V. They...

Re: Installing MGB lever Shocks on 39 Pickup

Is this what you are looking for? I can't find any good pictures of the rears but will look one more time. Not sure if these are the right shocks.

There have been a couple of mentions of interiors for pickups. I now have first hand experience with the Cartouche kit for 38/39 pickups. By and large I am happy with the product and outcome. I've...

Re: 39 Pickup Cab Floor

I have seen a '38 pickup with the dash mounted brake lever, but Mack Hil's book also shows them on the floor. My guess is that it was a running change from floor mount to dash mount at some point in...
