Re: ABS warning light
You always have to first approach a repair diagnosis with the KISS principle. Keep It Simple Stupid. Many people see a warning light on in one of the newer computer controlled vehicles and their hair...

Re: NASCAR 1957 Ford
FWIW. There were aftermarket breaker plates you could buy that converted your 57 distributor to dual points. Had one in my 57 until I switch it all to DuraSpark.

Re: Changing Intakes and Carb
The fast idle works just fine on my carb. You can install that piece without disconnecting anything on the choke. That's how the original piece was made. I don't know what the guy was thinking on the...

Re: Changing Intakes and Carb
Here's a couple pics of my mechanical secondary. The piece is about 2 1/2 in long and an inch wide. The large hole in the front hooks on the plastic stud on the end of the primary throttle shaft. The...

Re: Changing Intakes and Carb
Back in the day the aftermarket used to sell a kit to convert your 4100 from vacuum to mechanical secondaries. It was just a metal piece that you installed on the choke side of the carb. It worked...

Re: Mid 50s F-100 parts
I live about 20 miles from there and have stopped there a few times though I don't own a mid 50 F100. Place isn't much to look at from the outside but they have a big well organized parts department...

Re: Vlaue of a 390
I'm with Jim. Did plenty of FE intake manifolds while like Jim I was young and dumb. Picked up a 61 Starliner recently with a 406 3x2 aluminum manifold on it. Used a engine hoist this time for...

Re: Tri-Power acting up
Had the same problem with my 57 with 3x2's. For that concern I lowered the float level until it didn't flood hot. I spent 3 months getting my setup right. Overhauled all 3 carbs, installed larger...

Re: Autolite 1100 replacement for 1964 170 I6
I agree that the Autolite 1100 is a good carb. If I recall they used to have a problem with the accelerator pump circuit. When you went through them there was a plug you had to remove to clean out...

There's a special socket made to remove the canister on that pump. I have one somewhere. Haven't used it in 25 years.

Re: Front end alignment
Thanks for posting your alignment specs, that's what I was looking for. I was thinking along the lines of 2 degrees positive caster, 0-1/2 degree negative camber with 1/8in toe-in. Not far from stock...
