That is an anomaly of the model T. I don't know off hand if there is a good reason or fix for this.

I have replaced my original lens with an early aftermarket one that is all red, top and bottom, and quite reflective also. There are too many bad drivers to keep the amber stop lens.

The oil will float on top of the GOOP. Let it set a few days and drain the oil without running first. Then just leave a pan under it and let it drip for a day or so till dry.

Yes too much for slow or hilly travel but not too much speeding down the highway if the timing is correct. Adjust as needed!

If it runs OK with the GAV all the way closed after warm up, I would run it that way for a while and recheck the plugs. The gap needs to be set a bit wider also.
