no matter where the problem is, I would also replace that plastic fuel filter next to the carb. with a metal one. that clear plastic filter has the possibility of getting hot and maybe melting enough...

Crankster is correct, in that several manuals have the firing order printed wrong. some have the FE firing order, not the Y-Block firing order. If the firing order is cast into the intake , use that.

make sure you are adjusting the correct cyl. 1 through 4 is on the passenger side of the car, and 5 through 8 on the drivers side front to rear. alot of people get this wrong if not familiar with...

got my cap and rotor today. cap made in Germany, rotor made in usa $77.97 for the cap, $17.99 for the rotor, $2.88 Tax. Free shipping Rotor was in an Echlin box, the cap was in a Napa box

put some foam pipe insulation on the jack handle to keep from damaging the paint, and /or puting a dent in the body, drive up on a piece of 2x4 to help raise the frame a bit
