If you have vapor lock, one way around it is to install a "T" in the line between the fuel pump and the carb. The center outlet from the "T" solder it closed than drill a 1/8" hole in the solder....

When you install new pistons, rings, take the plugs out in the crank and clean it out. Tap and install new plugs in the crank.

An old trick was to put a "T" in the gas line after the mechanical fuel pump. In the out let of the "T" solder it closed, then drill an 1/8 hole in the solder. Run a line from the "T" to the gas...
