Re: Twin plug Heads

Pete (Nutrocker on the HAMB) has recently fabricated a twin plug conversion for his motor. I have had the pleasure of sharing the driving duties at a few hill climb events in the car and can tell you...

Re: Flathead Ford head studs- a couple questions

I used bolts when I fitted the Meyer heads to my 21 stud.
I broke 4 studs off each side getting them out and decided I wouldn't go through that pain again:(
I certainly noticed a difference in the...

Re: HOT early 21 stud Anyone have one?

Definitely worth doing Mike.
There is nothing wrong with the diver's helmet type but the crab is easy to install with the adaptors that are available, they are easy to set up and the parts are a bit...

Re: HOT early 21 stud Anyone have one?

I share your passion!
I love my little 21 stud. Not exactly hot, more slightly warm :)
Had it on the road for 3 years now, seen plenty of road miles along with regular trips up the drag strip. Been...

Re: "Death wobble

I would double check that the brackets will fit the 32 axle first but for me personally they look a touch overkill and also not a very pretty thing to have clamped around the axle.

You don't...

Re: "Death wobble

Not sure about the axle clamps but it should fit. Save yourself some money though and buy a VW unit from any decent motor factors or ebay and make up a simple bracket to mount it. They are exactly...

Re: eddey meyer heads

I bought mine from Don last year, heads were $1025 and the inlet was $825.

Re: eddey meyer heads

I have a set of Don's heads and matching inlet on my early 21 stud. Can't recommend his parts, or the man himself, highly enough.

Re: New to me early V8

The Ford crab dizzy is virtually the same as the Mallory. Mallory actually designed them for Ford in the first place. They do offer more clearence than the divers helmet type even with an adapter...

Re: New to me early V8

The heads and inlet are Don Orosco repros. Not cheap but I was running 20.4 secs before I fitted them!
Yeah the puke tank is from a 40's Buick I think. Works well.
I recently upgraded to a crab...

Re: New to me early V8

Here is my early babbit motor. They are good little units.
Think it was rebuilt at some point before I had it but no idea when, must have been a while ago. I fitted the heads and inlet.
Thrashed it...

Hey Joe

What a cool piece of history....
