Re: Removing the C Clips on a Universal Joint

I recently did mine, and while the clip was difficult, I was able to get it off with a small screwdriver. It was difficult, but I got it done. Interesting idea of cutting them off.

Re: 1929 Tudor Door hinge pin replacement

Find someone in your local club who has an air (pneumatic) air hammer. Small size. After about a minute or less, it will come right out. Mask around it well and hold it steady because it will tend to...

Re: Viberation - After Installing Model B Distributor

I don't know the answer to this, but is the timing gear for the Model B engine different than the Model A? You mentioned a Model B timing cover which I seem to remember reading that the timing pin...

Re: 29 Tudor hood alignment

Some things to consider. You say you had the body off of the frame once before. Even though you had a shim under one radiator side, how did the hood fit before? What was the condition of the...

Re: Tire changers, do you use the DIY units?

Not hard to do manually. My 29 has 21 inch wheels. Like has been said, it is harder to take the tire off than put it on. I did need a tire iron to remove them. Putting one on did not involve any...

Re: New guy seeking advice

I am just about your exact height and weight and I find that any Model A I have driven fits me well. I can sure see why the bigger guys have trouble. Even at my height/weight, I find mine to be a...

Re: Manual Spark Timing

X2

Spark advance has nothing to do with the voltage. Starting the car with the spark advanced causes the spark to hit before the piston gets to its top, and essentially works against the starter...

Re: Alternator install

Before doing any changes on the wiring, you should always either turn off the master cut-off switch or disconnect the battery. Believe me, it will save you a ton of grief. You might notice that in...

Re: Additional Fuses

Carl:

My word, Nice and organized wiring job, but you *must* have a lot of things attached. Judging by the plumbing, it looks like a heater coil so there must be a fan for that, and seeing that...

Re: Model A - 12 volt question

If stock 4-cyl, why change from 6 volt? Are you planning on having accessories? I once considered it, but all things considered, the changes neded didn't seem to get me much in the end. Sure,...

Re: Top kit advice

I think the creases will come out just fine. I have been using a hair dryer and letting it straighten itself out.

Re: Tudor top kit availability?

Steve Becker at Bert's said two weeks ago that he has the fabric, and he should also have the wood kits too. Give him a call. He's open half-days on Saturdays. (Mountain time). I really recommend...

Re: What's the latest you can remember anyone using an A?

PS: There is a guy in our local club who drives his 31 pickup as often as he can; like most every day. He calls it Rusty, and for good reason. He also has a '30 Tudor that he uses for those...

Re: What's the latest you can remember anyone using an A?

I can remember seeing older cars like that when I was pretty young. Maybe mid 1950's and thinking they were really old and crummy cars. Maybe I was just echoing in my mind the comments from my...

Re: OK,I wanna change my......

I tried it once, and never again. Especially with a 4-blade fan. Even if you have any success at all, you will wind up scraping the heck out of your hands and knuckles on the radiator fins and as a...

Re: Front Motor Mount

Somebody correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think there is a LOT of weight on the front motor mounts or their small springs. I think the nut on the base of the front motor mount yoke is intended...

Re: 28/29 tudor tail lamp wiring help

all the wiring runs on the bottom of the frame rail. Going through the cross-members, there is a small hole to thread the wire through. It is a straight shot.

Re: best head puller

In my opinion, this is the best one. Available at Bert's, Bratton's Snyders, and probably lots of others.
